"Someone tell me why in the fuck there are never any baby-changing stations in men's bathrooms? This is some Grade-A bullshit right here."
I responded with this comment (and shared it on facebook...in the thread some folks were talking about family restrooms as an alternative to the lack of changing tables in bathrooms, especially mens restrooms):
"Family restrooms are nice for us disabled folks too...as embarrassing as it is, I have to say that babies aren't the only ones who have to wear diapers (incontinence is a real thing)...when you've had to change one in a Porta potty and airplane bathroom, you realize how treasured the space is in family bathrooms... in response to the OP, it's certainly not fair at all...that men's restrooms have far fewer changing tables..."
I would add that regular sized public restrooms are space challenged making changing a diaper quite an irritating process and plus, even with the stall blocking the view of others, its still unnerving being an adult and having to change your own diaper in a stall knowing that there are people right next to you or there could be at any moment...Even with the privacy, you still worry about being heard next door or a person seeing you throw the used diaper away.
Dont get me wrong. A bathroom is a bathroom and if you got to change, you got to change. I just wish that society would treat incontinence and diapers differently so that way it wasnt so hard to take care of my needs.
