The premium brands do tend to be more bulky and sometimes still have the plastic backing and regardless are still a lot less discreet, but again they work as a diaper should.
Pull ups are not a good substitute. There is a market for them but in my opinion the market is over exaggerated due to stigma. People are scared to death of being found out at a party or at the family reunion where secrets go to die or at the symphony...etc....they buy what is available and discreet, making the sacrifice of not having a diaper that will actually protect them beyond a small bladder leak. One sneeze... and your social life is one drip away from being flushed away(lol)if you are some one like me who has severe incontinence a depend UNDERWEAR would be a serious mistake because all if would take is one accident. I would have no life because every time I turned around I would have to go put on another pair of "underwear" because I couldnt bring my self to wear a "diaper" .
Society produces this stigma and we ingrain that stigma at an early age with comments like "honey, you need to use the potty like a big boy" You arent a baby are you? Only babies wear diapers"
The campaign would have been ten times better if the product they are hawking looked more like a diaper and not less. Society is the one with the problem of equating the adult diaper with a baby one or in other wards equating the need for diapers as being an infantile one and because of that adult diapers have made the evolution. Before you know it we will have to wear trash bags.
I for one would pee my pants in public before I would wear a trash bag.

Heck make those pull ups thick enough to hold more than half an accident and I will
